"Some people quickly tire of their family. That's not the case for Jette and her daughter, Sofie. They love being together. So much so that they recently turned their shared passion for horses into their joint business.
They come from a family of entrepreneurs, and the desire to be their own bosses runs through generations. Therefore, it's only natural that Jette Nellemose and her daughter, Sofie Tolgaard, have now started their own company together - Cell Wellbeing, Horse & Rider in balance. Testdinhest.com investigates horse health and well-being through hair analysis. The concept is called Cell Wellbeing Horse & Rider in balance.
"Something we have in common is our passion. Our passion for horses, of course, but also our passion for helping others."
- Jette Nellemose
And some of the ones they want to help are horses of all breeds across the country.
"People who work with horses often buy plenty of supplements for their animals. They want the best for their horses, but often end up overtreating them with the wrong vitamins and minerals. That's where hair analysis can help because it shows precisely what the horse needs."
- Jette Nellemose
A support during cancer treatmentHair analysis can also be used for humans. Both Jette Nellemose and Sofie Tolgaard have benefited from it. In 2018, Jette Nellemose was diagnosed with breast cancer and later melanoma.
"I had a hair analysis done by nutritionist Lene Hansson, who guided me through the nutritional report that you receive after being hair tested. That nutritional report was a cornerstone in my life at that time. You could say it was a support tutor for me in the months afterward when I was physically and mentally down."
- Jette Nellemose
For Sofie Tolgaard, hair analysis has made a huge difference in her allergies. She is allergic to dogs, cats, and horses but has spent most of her free time since childhood in a horse stable.
"When it was really bad, I had to stay home, but otherwise, I managed my allergies by taking antihistamines, four a day. With hair analysis, I've been able to create a diet plan that suits my body's needs, and it has meant that I have literally eaten my way out of my allergy."
- Sofie Tolgaard, who no longer needs pills to manage her work with horses.
Although mother and daughter can test both horse and rider, it is essential to emphasize that they are only distributors of the system for horses in Denmark.
Jette Nellemose is an experienced entrepreneur. Among other things, she previously sold golf and wellness clothing for women in her own company, Birdie. She has also been an independent spinning and fitness instructor. In addition to testdinhest.com, she is also a nutritionist. Jette Nellemose's husband and Sofie Tolgaard's father, Claus Tolgaard, co-owns CTCoin A/S and KaffeLars, and the family also owns Stutteri Hindsholm. Daughter Sofie Tolgaard is not entirely new to entrepreneurship and makes a living from her own nutrition counseling company.
"In our family, we are very focused. We dare to take chances in life. I have parents who have always encouraged me to take the plunge into things, and it means a lot. We don't have long educations, but just because you take a long education doesn't mean you're guaranteed a job," says Sofie Tolgaard, and her mother adds:
"In our family, we've always just gone for a business school education. And then we take courses when there's something we need to learn more about."
Together with veterinarian Theresa Schumann, mother and daughter are now in the game with testdinhest.com. And in just a few months, they have seen significant demand for their product. Therefore, they are looking for more competent horse enthusiasts who want to work independently with this new unique system.
"That we can help both horse and rider through our shared passion is just fantastic," says Jette Nellemose.
